Decked in red bows, green boughs and bright festive bling, our seaside community celebrated 40 years of Christmas Prelude in 2021! It truly is the most wonderful time of year, and we invite you to come kick off your holiday season with us! This quintessential seaside celebration has grown to a 14-day event (Dec. 1-11, 2022) with a tree lighting street party, hat parade, candlelight caroling, craft fairs and Santa arriving by lobster boat, the pooch parade and much more. Since 1982, Kennebunkport conjures up Christmases of the past and celebrates the magic of the season with all the feels.

The weekends are packed with festive events, while midweek nights offer a quiet, more personal experience among the lights and decorations.

This authentic seaside celebration, sponsored by the Kennebunkport Business Association, has gained national recognition having been Recognized as one of the Top 10 Christmas Towns in America by HGTV, featured on the Today Show and written up in countless national publications.
